Ana da Ponte Lopes is a partner at Costa Pinto, where she leads the team dedicated to supporting clients on corporate governance, regulatory, compliance, and ESG matters – both in transactional contexts and in consultancy and ongoing advisory work for these institutions.
She has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Portuguese Observatory of Compliance and Regulation since 2025. Since 2024, she has also been a Member of the Audit Committee of Ares Lusitani STC, S.A.
She is currently part of the CSO Circle of BCSD – Business Council for Sustainable Development and represents Costa Pinto as a stakeholder of the Gender, Work and Power Observatory at ISEG – Lisbon School of Economics and Management.
Since 2015, Ana da Ponte Lopes has been dedicated to banking supervision, having served between 2018 and 2023 as Functional Coordinator of the Fitness and Corporate Governance Unit at Banco de Portugal, which acts as a gatekeeper for directors and key function holders in banks and financial institutions, validates the composition of management and supervisory bodies and their committees, and also assesses the internal control mechanisms of these institutions.
Her previous professional experience includes serving as in-house counsel in the corporate department at Teixeira Duarte, where she provided legal support to the parent company’s Board of Directors and acted as secretary of the general assembly boards of several group companies between 2010 and 2015.
Before that, Ana da Ponte Lopes was a Senior Associate at Garrigues law firm, in the Competition and Commercial Contracts Department, from 2005 to 2010.
She is also a speaker on corporate governance and fit & proper matters in training sessions and courses at ISEG – Lisbon School of Economics and Management.
